Lake Stay is based and managed out of Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2017, we noticed that the only way a boat owner could get the best water is by being on the lake before sunrise or around sunset. Watching people drive insane distances to get to the lake first thing in the morning, only to ride for a few hours before all of the lake life shows up breaks our hearts. To add insult to injury, your only options were rent a house boat or get a lake house, both of which can be colossal in price. Many people have already paid upwards of $100,000 for their boat, why should we need to fork over even more money just for wanting to use it?
There's got to be a better way...
Lake Stay offers a innovative idea that allows you to get the most out of your investment. With custom tents that mount and store easily, in less than 5 minutes, you can turn your boat into a camper. No need to cut the fun short or deal with pesky weekend traffic anymore.
Make the water your home!
Our goal is to give you more time with your friends and family doing what you love. Be the hero at the end of the day instead of packing it up and heading home, open up your tent and enjoy a blanket of stars and that sweet sweet early morning butter.
Life is better offshore...
Integrity, Innovation, and Quality.
Integrity: The foundation of a good person is integrity, so we figured it's what a company should be built on as well. Just as in building, if your foundation is cracked and broken your structure will never last. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking, even if it means taking a loss. Always holding ourselves to that standard, Lake Stay is dedicated to bringing the experience of working with us full circle so the whole process feel right. Not just on paper, but in the heart, mind and even the gut.
"Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one."
-Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Innovation: By constantly rethinking the ever aspect of business, we drive to be the leader in our craft. When the winds of change come blowing, as they inevitably do, you have two options: fight them and focus on the old because it has always worked, or adapt. We chose adapt. Being complacent in one's actions will always lead to destruction. Lake Stay is always looking ahead and has 'number 2' ready to go by the time the 'number 1' is being launch. This helps us be ahead of our competitors and focus on the real competition, ourselves.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect."
-Mark Twain
Quality: We only purchase top tier products and never sacrifice grade for price. When discussing quality of materials the option of buying a lesser grade was brought up with the idea of limited warranties. Who is that fun for? Why not give good quality and warranties and do right by the people who are gracious enough to trust our company? Lake Stay has the core belief to treat your customers like the gold they are and all the good will follow.
"How you make your money is a lot more important than how much you make."
-Gary Vaynerchuk
Owner
Born and raised in Arizona, Dakota Haeffner was raised by his parents, Tina and Guy Haeffner, to be water enthusiast. At a young age, Dakota was taught how to water ski, kneeboard, wakeboard, wake surf and do pretty much any sport on the water. The affection and attraction to water has grown and lead to a wonderful life with many fantastic friendships along the way. After losing a boat in a accident in the fall of 2013, Dakota was put in a position that could have kept him off the water, but thanks grace of the water sport community, he saw first hand the compassion and caring nature of his fellow water enthusiast. He has since made it his purpose to give back to the community that has already given so much.
Note from the owner:
"When I first pitched this idea to my dad, my number one fan and best friend, he didn't get it. 'Why would someone who can afford one of these boats waste time camping?' he asked. I was devastated really, but at the same time excited to be able to prove my idea. I thought it was so obvious. I wasn't able to look at it from his perspective because he hasn't been in the water sports world for so long. Those who are truly dedicated to their sport those who really love everything that the water has to offer feel a hole or something missing when they are away and when you are on the water with great friends, enjoying yourself, hearing the cheers from the boat as you ride, competing with the people you ride with yourself as well, it is like nothing else in the world matters. Maybe I'm over romanticizing it, but there is nothing me, nor my friends, would rather be doing. My sport was wakeboarding. I was taught how to ride on a 12 foot fishing boat that only ran half throttle on a 20 horsepower motor. It was comical to watch me ride behind this thing, but I tried so hard! The best part was I loved ever single moment of it. When my buddies finally got their dad to let them take out there boat in high school, every single Friday, we would take out the 17 foot boat and load extra plate weight in the storage in the back to make the wake bigger. We rode from sun up to sun down, no exceptions. We never wanted to leave and we were trying to figure out the way to ride at night with a spotlight. I finally got to ride on my first wakeboard boat, a special edition Nautique Byerly 210. I was smitten. Not just by the boat, but the owners brought me in like I was family. They were so gracious to me and without them I would have never been able to ride again, lost interest in wakeboarding and would be in a completely different place in life. I owe everything to them. They are even where the initial Lake Stay idea came from. They had to drive from the south side of Tuscon, AZ to Canyon Lake, AZ every weekend. That is at least a 3 hour drive. They told me how they would wake up at 3:00 AM and we would meet at Canyon to ride for the day, again sunrise to sunset. That is my 'target market' that is who I want to help. The dangerously dedicated and incredibly kind..."
